A new Web site targeting the tea parties is a part of a complex network of money flowing from the mountainous coffers of the country’s biggest labor unions and trickling slowly into political slush funds for Democratic activists.
President Obama says it’s time for Democrats and Republicans to work hard because the American people “expect a seriousness of purpose that transcends petty politics.”
If you are hoping to visit the newest crown jewel in America’s park system chosen by Congress, throw away the car keys and open up your wallet. The 2,900 pristine acres of beachfront property were not cheap — or even in the United States.
Two weeks ago, on a near party line vote, a huge Democratic majority in the House agreed to spend $50 million to buy the former cotton plantation on the island of St. Croix.
The mixture of dry forest and rangeland offers picturesque views of the Caribbean Sea, but good luck getting there. Critics in Congress say the purchase is wasteful and irresponsible, especially with unemployment at 10 percent and the nation in debt.
“Now is not the time to spend up to $50 million dollars of the taxpayers’ money to buy nearly 3,000 acres of beachfront property on a Caribbean Island,” said Rep. Doc Hastings, (R-Wash.), ranking Republican on the House Natural Resources Committee. “We can’t afford a price tag for a new park in St Croix, just as many Americans will never be able to afford a visit there.”
Democrats approved the purchase, even though the National Park Service has yet to complete a study on the purchase.
“We don’t have the money to do this,” said Rep Jason Chaffetz, (R – Utah). “Currently the National Park Service has an estimated $9 billion in backlog maintenance on existing parks. Why should the people of Iowa, Rhode Island or California or Utah have to continue to pay and supplement the people there on St Croix for this property?”
Obama just loves himself to death. He loves the sound of his own voice. He loves the view of himself in ANY medium. He loves his own ideas, even though they have no merit. One of these days, Obama will overplay his hand and just may get the very first sentence, in my spiel, IN real time.

In an oped in USA Today, John Brennan — Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism — responds to critics of the Obama administration’s counterterrorism policies by saying “Politically motivated criticism and unfounded fear-mongering only serve the goals of al-Qaeda.”
Obama, you would have been better served had you named Pluto, to this post. Either the cartoon character or the defrocked planet, pick one.

Moral to the story seems to be, that if you must have surgery, have it in your vehicle. That way you stand a good chance of taking your surgeon with you. That’ll teach ‘em.

You’ve heard of the Bridge to Nowhere. You might call this the Airport for Nobody.
The John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport has an impressive $18 million runway made of reinforced concrete that’s big enough to land any airplane in North America. The airport also has a $7 million air traffic control tower, a $14 million hanger and $8 million radar. Most of the time, the only thing the airport doesn’t have is airplanes.
An average of just 20 people a day flew out of the Murtha Airport last year. But, the airport was just awarded more federal money — $800,000 in stimulus funds to repave an alternate runway.
Located in Johnston, Pa., 56 miles from Pittsburgh, the Murtha Airport is a monument to the power of Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., who has steered some $150 million in taxpayer dollars to the airport over the last decade.

What we take “pretty seriously” Team MSNBC is, something called NEWS, not commentary from a nose up the ass of Team Obama. MSNBC is from what is understood a NEWS outlet…BUT with mouths such as YOURS, Matthews, Olbermann, Shuster, et al, it leaves no doubt that what MSNBC IS, is a propaganda outlet, of the Left.
